Meet Raven...My Anatolian Shepherd Dog
My name is Raven and I'm an Anatolian Shepherd Dog, an ancient Turkish livestock guardian breed. I was born in Attalla, Alabama on June 10th, 2004. I now live in Pennsylvania with my Mommy and my 3 younger siblings. I was Mommy's first ASD. I am now the "Monarch" of the family. My sisters and brother know that I am the leader of the pack. I just let Mommy think that she is even though I know better. I have her wrapped around my paw. I'm very intelligent but can be a bit stubborn at times. I am Mommy's big, beautiful girl and I am her rock. I'm 29" tall at the shoulder and was 130 pounds the last time I was weighed. I'm a solid girl. I am very laid back, loving and incredibly gentle. I have my goofy moments too. I love to make Mommy laugh unexpectedly. I also give the best "Raven Hugs" in the world. You know I like you when I walk up to you and press my head into you for a hug. I like most people that I meet and most people that meet me fall in love with me. I'm also my doctor's favorite. I absolutely love the cold weather. It's the best when it snows or rains. When it snows I love to run and play in it and could lay in it forever. When it rains my Mommy doesn't like me going outside in it because I love to dig whether it's wet or dry. It's just more fun when it's wet because I can splash in the mud puddles that I create. Plus I like to drive her nuts by getting covered in mud from head to toe, then running in the house, leaving a big mess for her to clean up. She forgives me though because all I have to do is give her "the look" and she caves in. I like playing ring around the rosie with her around the kitchen island. I also like playing fetch with her. She's the one who has to stop because I could go on forever. I really like toys. My favorites are nylabones, balls and lots of stuffed toys. I like playing with the stuffing that comes out of the toy more then the toy itself. I have a big yard to run and play in with my siblings, but most of the time I'm on patrol. I'm very serious when patrolling and working. I can patrol for hours and be perfectly content. I go crazy when I see stray cats or bunnies. I love chasing the bunnies and barking at them. Bunnies BEWARE!!! I'm going to get you, but then again, I might not. I just like to cause drama. I'm a huge drama queen. I just love the attention. I have mastered the art of being a drama queen and everyone falls for it because I'm just so lovable.
