Kazara has been acting quite strange the past month or so. (It's not anything new for her.) Anyways, she has this plush ball she found in the toy box. It's a tiny little thing and normally these dogs like to tear up toys. Kazara has been carrying this ball around with her like a baby all the time lately. Everytime you see her she has this ball with her. She even lays around with it in her mouth and walks around the house carrying it everywhere. She's even taken it outside with her while she goes potty then brings it right back inside with her and not once letting it out of her mouth. This ball is like a little baby to her. None of the other dogs will go near the ball. They all know it's HERS. We call it her "baby". If for some reason she doesn't have it with her then I'll ask her "Where's your baby?" and she'll run and grab it and take it with her wherever she goes. It's quite funny. This poor ball is always soaking wet from constantly being in her mouth and it's been getting quite dirty from her taking it everywhere including outside. I have no idea how long she'll keep this up with this particular toy or what she'll do if she looses it. It's her little baby! Here's some pictures of a typical day with her "baby".
Kazara sitting on the steps with her "baby".
Now she lays down on the steps with it.
"I love my baby ball"
Now she takes it to another room and lays down with it while still protecting it.
The time has come for them to go outside to run and play but Kazara wants to take the ball with her.
I told her she needs to leave it inside but she doesn't agree so she walks away from the door because she doesn't want to leave it behind. She figured she'd stay inside with the ball. Look how pathetic that face is!
With all the excitement from the others waiting to go outside, she goes back to the door once again. "Please Mommy! Please let me take it with me!"
"Yay! She left me take it with me! No one is going to touch my baby!"
"I think it's safe over here under the tree. No one else is around."
"Ok the coast is clear. I can lay my baby down."
My little buddy, Tayyar, has something funny he does. I have hardwood floors throughout the house and big area rugs and runners placed throughout. He likes to move the rugs around quite a bit and he bunches them up to lay on them. I'm constantly straightening rugs out so I don't trip over them. This past weekend I was doing some work on the computer and everything was peaceful. I walked into the living room and to my surprise he had the big area rug all bunched up and pulled across the room and partially laying on the fireplace brick. He was a busy body but very quiet about it so I had no idea until I saw it. He's a sneaky little guy. Here he is passed out on "his" rug. He must have tired himself out!
This past weekend I had the dogs out in the yard running for a bit. It was freezing cold so I had to keep going inside for a few minutes to thaw myself out. I noticed all the dogs disappeared. I walked outside to see where they got off to. They were all down in the far end of the yard. I looked to see what had so much of their attention. Suddenly the sky filled with hundreds and hundreds of birds. It turned black with birds. I ran inside to get my camera so I could try to get some pictures of all of them. By the time I made it back outside they were all landing in the field and were very hard to see. They took off once again and all started to fly away. I was only able to get 2 pictures of some of them but not all of them. It was an amazing sight to see. I wish I was able to get better pictures but I was able to snap these as they began to fly away.
If you look close enough, you will see a bunch of birds in the trees and if you look harder you will see a bunch just taking off from the ground. Raven and Tayyar were there watching the whole thing.
Tayyar running after them when the remainder of them took flight. He must have thought he could catch them!
I don't think the dogs ever saw anything like that before. I know Pasa and Tayyar haven't. Tayyar is funny because when he see's a bird flying then he'll run after it with his head way up in the air like he'll be able to jump and catch it. It doesn't matter how high the bird is flying, he still thinks he can catch it.
A little later on in the day, I was inside doing some dishes and all the dogs were laying around sleeping. Pasa set off an alarm at the back door. I looked up to see out the window and I saw immediately what had her attention. It was a fox! Pasa has never seen a fox before and she went crazy wondering what that thing was. I was able to snap a quick picture of it before it jumped in the brush. It was fun watching it bounce around like it was trying to catch something. Here's the only picture I was able to get of Pasa's fox. I didn't want to scare it so I had to take the picture through the glass door and I had the camera set on a major zoom in order to get it.
