Anatolian Shepherd Dog

When you look into the eyes of an Anatolian, you're looking into their soul.

Your absolutley right about the antolian shepherd dog's eyes. I resuced my anatolian (pongo) from a kill shelter the best choice i could have made on choosing a dog. They say the anatolian can pick up on ones feelings when they are down and going through some tough times. When i went to meet pongo and the shelter he walked right up to me put his head on my knee and looked right into my eyes with those deep brown eyes of his. He sighed as if to say I know big guy I know..My resuce dog rescued me and I cant imagine life with out him. Thank you

Lovely web.site. I had no idea what I was getting into when Noodles came to us! We are Humane Society volunteers and also do foster care when needed. Noodles was emaciated and loaded with heartworm. We
returned him to health and simply could not return him to the Humane Society. Into our 4th year with an Anatolian and we could not be happier.
Prior to our foster care we had never heard of the breed. What a sweetheart, the PERFECT dog for us. Thanks for all you do! P.S. Noodles looks just like Pasa.

I got my Anatolian Shepherd as a stray. He was pretty beat up and had a terrible infection in his eye. Never knew what bread he was until recently. He has been with me now for 5 years and he is the sweetest thing ever. I love him for his size and he stops people in their tracks when they see him. I am so happy he came into my life and now that I know what he is that is even better. The vet couldn't tell me what breed he was. Thanks for the web site.

Your comments are so accurate. I adopted my Anatolian from a shelter and he was 8 months old. I had no idea about the breed (and neither did the shelter) so it has been a learning but everything you have described was exactly what I have experienced and we get along famously. He is described by my friends and family as the best dog they have ever met and has been an excellent companion to me. Glad to see this website!
